Columbia's Movers and Shakers are lighting up Locust Street on the darkest day of the year!

There are many traditions throughout various cultures and religions that encourages the lighting of candles to remember the darker times one has overcome and remember that brighter days are soon to come. These traditions are also to remind us that although the winter season brings with it longer nights, soon there will be longer days with more sunshine. We sometimes like to light them in honor and memory of those who are no longer with us and invite them to spend some precious time with us in our memories.

On December 21st at 5pm the luminary bags will be lit and placed along Locust St. in Columbia.
